چکیده

bstract—Developments in functional neuroimaging in noral human subjects, such as functional magnetic resonance maging (fMRI), have permitted the mapping of several visual reas of the human brain and have already provided proviional identification of some of the visual areas that were first escribed in nonhuman primates. However, the lack of a etailed description of the sulcal patterns of the human ocipital lobe makes it difficult to establish clear relationships etween sulcal landmarks and identified visual areas with unctional neuroimaging. In the present study we used magetic resonance images to investigate the morphological ariation of the human occipital sulci in both the left and right emispheres of 40 normal adult human brains. We identified 1 occipital sulci, the parieto-occipital fissure and the temoro-occipital incisure, and their corresponding gray matter oxels were marked in the magnetic resonance volumes hich had been transformed into the Montreal Neurological nstitute standard proportional stereotaxic space. Probability aps were then constructed for each occipital sulcus. These robability maps provide a quantitative measure of the varibility of the occipital sulci in standard stereotaxic space and re a useful tool to identify the location of voxels of other agnetic resonance imaging images transformed in the ame stereotaxic space. © 2008 IBRO. High-resolution random mesh algorithms for creating a probabilistic 3D surface atlas of the human brain.

Striking variations exist, across individuals, in the internal and external geometry of the brain. Such normal variations in the size, orientation, topology, and geometric complexity of cortical and subcortical structures have complicated the problem of quantifying deviations from normal anatomy and of developing standardized neuroanatomical atlases. This paper describes the design, implementat...

Three-dimensional probabilistic atlas of the human orbitofrontal sulci in standardized stereotaxic space.

A quantitative analysis of the variability of human orbitofrontal anatomical landmarks is required if one is to describe properly the location of functional or structural changes within this brain region. The present study investigated the orbitofrontal sulci in 100 normal adult human cerebral hemispheres using magnetic resonance images that were transformed into the standardized proportional s...

Human Gait Control Using Functional Electrical Stimulation Based on Controlling the Shank Dynamics

Introduction: Efficient gait control using Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) is an open research problem. In this research, a new intermittent controller has been designed to control the human shank movement dynamics during gait. Methods: In this approach, first, the three-dimensional phase space was constructed using the human shank movement data recorded from the healthy subjects. Then...

Some results on coupled fixed point and fixed point theory in partially ordered probabilistic like (quasi) Menger spaces

In this paper, we define the concept of probabilistic like Menger (probabilistic like quasi Menger) space (briefly, PLM-space (PLqM-space)). We present some coupled fixed point and fixed point results for certain contraction type maps in partially order PLM-spaces (PLqM- spaces).

Effect of Increase in Amplitude of Occipital Alpha & Theta Brain Waves on Global Functioning Level of Patients with GAD

Introduction: The basic objective of this study is to investigate the effects of alpha and theta brain waves amplitude increase in occipital area on reducing the severity of symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and to increase the global functioning level in patients with GAD. Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test with two groups. For this purpos...
